About Me
My name is Hector Aviles, and I’m your host and main writer at LatinoWebCafe.com. I am a big fan of latin music and decided to start LatinoWebCafe to share my knowledge, insights, and research on latin music. I believe you’ll enjoy more the music you listen when you know more about it. You can also benefit from my recommendations to help you find good music to listen or dance. I like to research our musical roots, and believe we can keep our culture alive by sharing those roots with others.
My favorite music genre is “salsa”, but I like almost any type of music, from “trios” to boleros, from rancheras to huapango, from bachata to vallenato, from brazilian to latin jazz, to a bit of reggeatón, and many others. Music is one of the main ways to express our culture and teach it to our future generations. As a latino living in the United States, I want to do my part in sharing a little knowlege regarding the story behind our music, so that we can better enjoy the music for ourselves, and also be able to better pass our culture to our children.
I currently work at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington as a Process Manager. My educational background is in Industrial Engineering with a Masters in Business Administration specialized in Technology Management (MBA/TM).
I hope to make this page one were you feel comfortable to share your opinions and comments. My goal is to see LatinoWebCafe.com grow from a small discussion group into an active community of readers that also contribute to the richness of the content and of the discussion.
Please let me know how I can improve this site to reach that goal. You can reach me at my email (hector@latinowebcafe.com). I also encourage you to spread the word to your friends and family so we can become a bigger community. I hope to hear from you soon!
Saludos,
Hector
